An analytical laboratory, and nothing else.
United Diagnostics tests research materials and issues certificates of analysis. We do not manufacture, distribute, compound or sell any of the materials we test, and we do not hold a commercial interest in the outcome of a result. That separation is the entire reason a third-party certificate is worth more than a supplier's own paperwork.
We are based in Sheridan, Wyoming, and accept submissions by post against a submission reference issued in advance.
Scope & limitations
What a certificate does not say.
Being straight about the limits is part of the service. Anyone who tells you a certificate proves more than this is selling something.
01It describes the sample tested
Results relate only to the units submitted, as received. A certificate is not evidence about any other vial, lot or batch, however similar.
02It is not an accreditation
United Diagnostics operates an internal quality management system. We are not accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, and we do not present our certificates as accredited results.
03It is research-use only
Materials are accepted and reported for research use only. A certificate is not a statement of fitness for human or veterinary use, or for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
04It has a chain of custody
Sterility and endotoxin results are only meaningful on units the laboratory opened itself. We say so on the certificate when that condition was not met.
Reading a certificate
Four things worth checking on any certificate of analysis.
Including ones issued by somebody else.
Is there a limit beside every result?
A number with no specification next to it cannot pass or fail. It is data, not a result.
Is net content reported?
Purity alone does not tell you how much is in the vial. A document that omits content is answering the easier question.
Is the method stated?
“Purity 99%” with no method behind it is a claim. With the gradient and detection stated, it is a measurement.
Does it verify independently?
Scan the code. A document whose own issuer cannot confirm it should be treated as unverified.
